The first time she started her career in music was at the age of teens. She falsely claimed that she is the 'cousin of B2K rapper Lil Fizz. Sail Out The Worst Uh Huh was among the hits she had. Another hit song is Why I love You. She made her debut in 2002 as a singer-songwriter on the soundtrack for the film The Master of Disguise by providing vocals for the song Cherry Pie. She was featured in the first video for her ex-boyfriend ORyans, called Take It Slow. She is a R&B Hip-Hop Rap artist. The number one hit track"3:16 AM" published by the renowned publishing house A&R and available digitally on iTunes has increased her fame. As well as being a part of Drake's album Was The Same the same, she also achieved global acceptance. The Worst was the top-selling single on US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop-Airplay in May 2014. The song also climbed to the top 11 spot for Hot R&B/Hip-Hop. In 2015, she was nominated for 'Grammy Awards' across three categories.
